Robot for the Automatic Removal of Rebar Stirrups
The new robot Capto for picking up rebars was presented at bauma in Munich by Pedax GmbH. Pedax takes the next step towards full automation of its systems with advanced automation.
The prototype version went into operation at Norsk Stål at the end of 2021. The robot heads are equipped with automatic grippers that can be used to remove shapes of different lengths at an angle of 90°. Robots can then be place within robot cells or stacks at predefined positions. In order to store compact hangers, big bags or mobile trolleys, gathering them together is recommended. Additionally, if you don’t want to disturb ongoing production, you can hang the stirrups either on a conveyor belt or on a rotatable wall bar.
